원거라지 매장 One Garage Store
원거라지 매장은 상업 공간을 신발과 의류 중심의 매장으로 탈바꿈시킨 프로젝트로
명확한 제품 전시와 더불어 다른 매장과 차별화된 사용자 경험을 제공하고 공간에 독창성과 개성을 부여하는 데 중점을 두었다.
매장의 디자인은 기마랑이스 마을의 풍부한 역사적 유산에서 영감을 받은 연구를 토대로 구상되었다.
그중에서도 성곽과 흉벽에서 착안하여, 역사적 의미를 담은 독특한 실내 환경을 구현하려는 시도가 돋보인다.
공간은 전기 용접 철망으로 제작된 구조적 요소들로 구성됐으며, 이는 특정 기하학적 패턴이 상호작용하면서 내부 공간에 개방성과 광활한 느낌을 더해준다.
이번 디자인의 출발점은 중세 흉벽으로, 과거 도시 성벽과 탑 꼭대기를 장식하던 이 구조물은 명확한 기하학적 패턴을 특징으로 한다.
이를 재해석해 매장에서는 아연 도금 강철로 제작된 전기 용접 철망 형태로 구현했다.
이렇게 재탄생한 흉벽은 투명성을 띠면서도 철사 표면이 빛을 반사해 기존 돌로 만들어진 묵직한 흉벽과는 달리 가볍고 현대적인 느낌을 준다.
이 철망 구조물은 단순히 시각적인 주목을 끄는 요소 이상으로, 신발, 액세서리, 의류 진열대를 겸하거나 거울 설치대로 활용될 수 있다.
매장 내부 둘레를 따라 반복적으로 배치되어 새로운 성벽처럼 매장을 둘러싸며 전체적으로 통일된 흐름과 공간적 내러티브를 형성한다.
이러한 금속격자는 투명성과 광택, 입체감이 돋보이며 복잡하게 얽힌 미로 같은 이미지를 통해 연속적이고 역동적인 시각 경험을 제공한다.
구조적 디테일부터 고정 장치와 설비, 부속품까지 모든 설계 요소는 매장의 효율적인 운영과 제품 진열 과정을 최적화하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
또한 부가적인 디자인 요소들은 공간에 생동감을 부여하고 콘셉트를 강화하며 각 시나리오를 돋보이게 한다.
이처럼 통합적이고 일관된 디자인 접근법은 방문객들에게 흥미로운 경험을 선사하는 동시에 공간을 중립적이면서도 세련된 제품 전시의 장으로 만든다.
제품들은 이 정제된 추상적 구조 내에서 배치되어 더욱 명료한 의미를 담게 되고, 전체적인 구성이 체계적이고 완결성을 지닌 형태로 완성된다.
1G Store is a project to convert the interior of a commercial space into a shoe and clothing store.
The renovation must achieve two goals: a clear display of products and a striking approach that endows the store with personality
and offers a differentiated users’ experience from other stores in the sector.
The design for the store began with a study of the castle and the city ramparts in order to create a setting in the
interior that evokes one of the main elements of the rich historical heritage of the town Guimarães.
The interior space was organized as structural elements made of electro-welded wire mesh, which creates a sense
of openness and vastness through the interplay of certain geometric patterns which amplify the interior space and the linear meters of display area.
The starting point is a single element, the medieval battlement. This element which tops off the walls of the city’s ramparts and towers has a
clearly recognizable geometric pattern, and is reinvented in folds of electro-welded mesh made of galvanized steel.
This new battlement is transparent, and its wire surface reflects light, transforming it into an ethereal element, devoid of inert stone.
