DSC는 여러 패션 브랜드를 다루는 편집매장으로, 다양한 취향을 가진 클라이언트에 따라 모든 의상에 잘 어울리는 공간 설계를 목표로 삼았다.
Say Architects는 실내외에 소재와 스타일이 서로 다른 요소를 이루지만, 전반적으로 조화로운 분위기를 조성하고자 했다.
설계팀은 기존의 거대한 기둥들을 불규칙한 형태로 감쌌다.
공간 안으로 들어가면서 동선에 따라 그 형태는 시시각각 달라지고, 변형된 기둥 주위에는 옷걸이가 놓여 있다.
천장도 기둥에 따라 변형되는데, 기둥과 만나는 지점에서 아래로 처져 있다.
선반 같은 나무 기둥 두 개가 천장을 관통하여 바닥에 닿아 있고, 각기 다른 색을 띠는 여러 장의 유리가 서로 다른 방향에서 나무 기둥에 박혀, 제품 진열을 위한 선반을 형성한다.
설치물 또는 다른 요소와 자재의 혼합물에 가까운 가구는 무질서하면서도 흥미로운 의도와 직관에서 형성되었다.
치즈처럼 생긴 중앙의 테이블은 기발한 형태와 밝은 색으로 매우 선명한 인상을 준다.
석재공장에서 1톤짜리 사암을 직접 고르고 샌딩 처리하여 만든 테이블이 통창 옆에 배치되었다.
스프링 모양의 옷걸이가 두 개의 자그마한 사암 조각 옆에 놓여, 흥미로운 장면을 연출한다.
DSC 북쪽으로는 빈티지한 분위기의 작은 커피숍이 붙어 있다.
커피숍 바닥은 공간의 기존 디자인에 사용되었던 자재로 만든 테라초로 마감했다.
커피숍은 노란 채색 유리로 편집매장과 분리되어, 작은 정원으로 이어져 있다.
정원의 바닥 역시 커피숍과 동일한 맞춤 테라초로 마감되었다.
이 프로젝트는 복잡하게 설계되었지만, 특정 공간을 만들려는 의도보다 ‘배치’를 더 중시한 공간이다.
디자이너는 이곳을 디자인 없는 디자인, 확실한 불확실성, 조화롭지 않은 조화라고 이야기한다.
DSC is a select store with multiple fashion brands.
Its goal is to design a space fitting them all, and the client has a very diverse preference.
Understanding there are various elements of different materials and styles indoor and outdoor, Say Architects wanted to achieve a harmonious atmosphere.
The design team wrapped up the existing massive columns to be irregular shapes, and these shapes change from moment to moment according to moving line.
Around the deformed columns are clothe racks. The ceiling was also deformed to have a relationship with the columns,
which was pulled down when intersecting with the columns. Two wood pillars like shelves penetrate through the ceiling and hit the floor,
and several different color tinted glasses are inserted into the columns at different directions, forming the shelves for displaying products.
Furniture is more like installation or a hybrid of different elements and materials.
The furniture was generated from the chaotic but interesting intention and intuition.
The cheese-like table in the center makes its existence very obvious with its quirky shape and bright color.
A table made of 1 ton sandstone chosen by the designer at the stone factory in person and gone through sanding process,
is placed next to a full size window. A spring-like clothe hanger is next to two smallish pieces of sandstone, creating an interesting scene.
There is a small coffee shop with vintage atmosphere, attached to the northern side of NSC.
