바누 콘셉트 레스토랑 Banu Concept Restaurant 디자인은 중국 정저우에 있는 면적 2100㎡의 건물 파사드 개조와 실내공간을 포함한다.

클라이언트는 성장하는 혁신적인 프랜차이즈의 대표적인 레스토랑으로서 이 프로젝트를 통해 주축이 되고 지역사회로 환영하는 랜드마크를 조성하는 것을 무엇보다 중요시했다.

설계팀은 뱃사람의 역사, 바누를 기리되 밧줄로 만든 물결 모양의 격자를 표현하여 자연스러우면서도 요동치는 흐름으로 형성된 공간을 조성하려 했다.

이에 설계팀은 먼저 기존 건물의 대형 직교 그리드를 허물고, 식당 내 별실과 개방된 주방을 위한 일련의 원추 형태의 조형물을 가지고 공간을 유려한 구조로 새롭게 구성하였다.

그 다음, 로비와 주 좌석 영역에 수직의 원추형 보이드 두 개를 배치하여 두 층에 마련된 식사 공간을 한데 이었다.

세 번째 전략은 변화하는 유기적 격자 천장 디자인이다.

천장 패널의 밀도, 높이, 크기에 변화를 주어, 공간의 깊이감을 조성하며 투명도를 달리할 수 있었다.

실내 공간에 대한 아이디어는 외부 파사드로도 확장되었다.

파사드는 입구에서 치켜세워졌고, 천장을 따라 연결되어 실내외 마감에 연속성을 부여하였다.

이곳은 실내외의 통일성을 통해 끊임없이 변화하는 역동성을 내비치며, 레스토랑에서의 활동을 보고 함께하도록 지나는 사람들을 환영하고 있다.

The Banu Concept Restaurant’s design includes the interiors and façade replacement for a 2100㎡ building in Zhengzhou China.

As the Flagship restaurant for a growing and innovative franchise it was important for the client that the project creates a recognizable landmark along the main axis road and be welcoming to the community.

Design team sought to honor Banu, the river man’s history, but creating a space formed from a natural yet turbulent flow and marked by the sinuous lines of the rope pull lattices.

They first break down the large scale and orthogonal structural grid of the existing building and reframe the space into a fluid organization system with a series of sculptural cones shaped for private dining and open kitchens.

Then, two vertical conical voids are introduced at the lobby and main seating area to tie two dining levels together.

The third strategy involved the design of an organic lattice ceiling that varied in.

Through varying the ceiling panels’ density, height and size, they were able to transform the transparency, creating a sense of depth to the space.

The ideas of the interior were extended to exterior facade.

The facade is pulled up at the entry and connected along the ceiling, giving continuity between the exterior and interior envelopes.

Through the unity of interior and exterior, the affect is a constantly changing dynamic to the street where the public are welcome to view and join in the activities of the restaurant.
