스튜디오스 오모테산도 STUDIOUS OMOTESANDO
이용객의 이목을 집중시켜야 하는 공간이 있다. 상업공간이 이에 해당한다.
ODS(Oniki Design Studio)가 엄선된 일본 브랜드를 세계에 소개하는 부티크 의류 브랜드 스튜디오스(STUDIOUS)를 위한 매장 디자인을 의뢰받았을 때 가장 먼저 생각한 부분도 이 지점이었다.
최신 트렌드를 어떻게 전할 수 있으며 패션에 안목이 높은 사람들이 자주 오가는 이 지역에서 사람들의 눈길을 어떻게 끌 수 있느냐가 관건이었다.
이를 위해 선택한 재료는 바로 유리다. 유리와 속이 비어 있는 폴리카보네이트 시트(Polycarbonate Sheet)를 공간의 기본 자재로 채택해 투명한 공간을 설계하기로 마음먹었다.
건물 1층 전면을 유리로 마감해 주목도를 높이고자 했다. 출입구 바로 오른편에는 시간적으로 팝업 매장 같은 행사를 열 수 있는 무대도 설치했다.
무대로 오르는 계단과 의상진열대는 두께 15㎜의 유리판을 여러 겹 쌓아서 조성하였고, 천장에 설치된 대형 조명기구는 LED 관과 속이 빈 폴리카보네이트 판을 결합하여 만들었다.
금빛의 특수 도료로 마감한 벽체를 따라 이어지는 계단 위에는, 더 차분한 공간이 이용객을 기다리고 있다.
2층에는 진열대가 마련된 반원형의 커다란 기둥이 중앙에 세워져 있고, 거기서 가늘고 긴 흰색의 천장과 파란 카펫이 뻗어나간다.
뒷벽은 1층 천장에서 사용된 것과 동일한 속이 빈 폴리카보네이트 패널과 거울이 결합돼, 1층의 서사를 이어가면서도 반사하는 이미지를 연출하고 있다.
이 좁은 공간은 센터피스 역할을 하는 상징적인 기둥과 더불어 설계되어, 그 주변의 장면들에 극적인 변화를 준다.
There are spaces that need to attract the users’ attention. This is the case with commercial spaces. When ODS(Oniki Design Studio) was asked to
design a store for boutique clothing brand STUDIOUS which introduces Japanese selected brands to the world, the first thing ODS thought
was just this point. Attention was given to how the latest trends can be disseminated and how people can be attracted in this area frequented by fashion-conscious people.
They chose glass. Glass and hollow polycarbonate sheets were used as the primary materials to design a transparent and open-plan space.
On the first floor of the fully-glazed building, there is a stage right at the entrance to hold events such as a limited-time pop-up store.
The steps to the stage and the base of clothes racks are made of laminated glass plates of 15㎜ thick,
and a large light fixture installed on the ceiling is a combination of LED tubes and hollow polycarbonate boards.
At the top of the stairs along the wall coated with special gold-color paint, a more serene space unfolds.
On the second floor, a large semi-circular pillar with display stands in the center, where strips of a white ceiling surface and a blue carpet spread out.
The wall at the back is a combination of a mirror and the same hollow polycarbonate boards as the first-floor ceiling to create a soft,
reflective finish. This small space was designed with the symbolic pillar as the centerpiece so that the scenes transform dramatically around it.
