EVD 사무실 EVD Office
중국 상하이에 위치한 EVD 사무실은 부지의 제한에서 파생된 두 디자인 맥락을 기반으로 구상되었다.
하나는 입구에서부터 내부까지 뻗어 있는 공간, 다른 하나는 5m 높이에 수직으로 접힌 공간이다.
부지의 한계로 인해, 출입구는 로비의 위치에 따라 정해졌고, 벽은 구조 골격과 5개의 질서정연한 창문에 따라 규정되었다.
사무실 공간 형태는 고전적 언어를 기반으로 설계했다.
안토넬로 다 메시나(Antonello da Messina)의 걸작 속 건축, 실내 구조, 조경, 가구 등에서 볼 수 있는 아치형 요소를 인용했다.
공간의 평면은 직사각형을 띤다.
설계팀은 햇빛이 자유롭게 여과되고 확산될 수 있도록 공간의 한쪽 긴 면과 5개의 큰 창문을 통합하는 U자형 영역을 조성했다.
화재에 대비하여 출입구를 로비 쪽으로 돌출시켰는데, 그 위치와 너비는 공간 패턴과 형태 구상에 새로운 기회가 되었고, 전체 공간디자인도 여기서 출발했다.
피타고라스는 구(球)와 원(圓)이 모든 입체도형과 평면도형 중에서 각각 가장 아름답다고 말했다.
루이스 칸은 자신의 회화 에서 사람들이 돔 아래에서 담소를 나누고 빛이 자유롭게 스며드는 장면을 묘사했다.
그는 자연광과 기하학적 형태의 중요성을 강조했다.
설계팀은 이 프로젝트를 위해 현대적인 접근방식과 고전적 건축요소를 활용하여 공간에 영원성을 더했다.
또한 구체를 유입하여 공간적 심미성을 높이는 동시에 정신적 차원에서 사용자의 경험을 풍부하게 했다.
‘경계’와 ‘사이’는 공간의 무한한 가능성을 나타내는 두 단어이다.
설계팀은 공간에 벽을 세우고 물체를 수용하는 사이 영역과 결합하여 때때로 통로를 형성한다.
새로운 공간적 관계가 기존의 공간적 골격에 삽입되어 다층의 경험을 가능케 하는 것이다.
이곳은 사무실과 전시실이라는 공간 특성을 기반으로 순수한 정신적 느낌을 주는 장소로 고안되었다.
어떤 영역은 무한한 반면, 다른 영역은 막혀 있다.
그 영역들은 틈과 개구부를 통해 함께 전체로 통합된다.
Located in Shanghai, China, EVD office is conceived based on two design threads that derive from site restrictions.
One extends from the entrance to the interior, while the other is folded out vertically in the 5m high space. Due to site limitations,
the position of the foyer determines the location of the entrance, and the structural framework and the five orderly window openings define the placement of the wall.
The spatial form of the office is shaped based on classical languages. It absorbs arched elements from Antonello da Messina’s masterpiece “St. Jerome in His Study”,
which can be seen on architectural and interior structures, landscape and furniture. The space has a rectangular plane.
The designers created a U-shaped area that integrates with one long side of the space and the five large windows, which allow natural light to
filter in and diffuse freely. The entrance protrudes towards the foyer, due to the consideration of fire control regulations. Its position and width for evacuation
bring new opportunities for the organization of spatial pattern and form. The overall spatial design starts here.
In the drawing “Architecture Comes from the Making of a Room”, Louis Kahn depicted a scene where people chat under a dome
and light freely filters in. He emphasized the importance of natural light and geometric shapes. For this project, the design team
utilized classical architectural elements with modern approaches, to add a sense of eternity to the space. Besides,
the sphere is brought in, which enhances the spatial aesthetic while enriching users’ experiences at spiritual level.
