Erbalunga estudio는 기존의 오래된 석재와 새롭고 현대적인 디자인요소를 결합하여 스페인 투이에 크레이프 매장, 레 크레페 다 피아(Le Crêpe da Pía)를 설계했다.

이 프로젝트의 소유주는 한정된 공간 내에 좌석을 배치하기도 하면서 고객이 원하면 구매해서 중세의 흔적이 남아 있는 도시

거리를 거닐며 먹을 수 있도록 ‘테이크아웃’ 콘셉트로, 자리가 잡힌 지역에 크레이프 매장을 내고자 했다.

이 콘셉트를 강조하기 위해서 설계팀은 거리를 지나는 사람들이 바로 볼 수 있는 창문 영역을 활용하여 공간을 내비칠 수 있도록 선택하였다.

따라서 시각적 접점이 확립되었고 지나는 사람들은 크레이프가 만들어지는 모습을 바라볼 수 있다.

중세의 흔적을 가진 도시에 위치한 석조건물은 긴 세월에도 그대로 보존되어 있고, 크레이프 매장 전면에 서비스 카운터가 더해져서 누군가 급히 크레이프를 사서 가던 길을 계속해서 가기 쉽게 해준다.

디자인에 대한 배려는 좁은 공간에 너무 많은 것을 싣지 말자는 것이었다.

그래서 공간의 질을 높이고 매력적으로 만드는 한정된 소재의 팔레트와 산뜻한 분위기를 이용하여 기하학적 간결성을 채택하는 수준으로 결정되었다.

내부에는 서비스 카운터 전면을 마감하는 데 사용되었던 목재 슬랫이 석벽에 기대어 좌석 영역을 조성하는 데 사용되기도 했다.

바닥에서부터 시작되어 천장까지 이어지며 공간을 감싸고 있는 철재 프레임에 목재 슬랫을 끼워 넣어, 천장에 설치하지 않고도 조명을 매달 수 있는 장치가 되어 준다.

밝은 목재 테이블 상판과 간결한 화이트 의자들은 크레이프 매장의 전체 디자인을 보완한다.

반대편의 밝은 화이트 벽면에는 조명이 숨겨진 벽감이 있고, 간결한 목재 바 상판이 또 다른 철재 프레임에 끼워져 있다.

거리 쪽을 향해 바라보면 철재 프레임과 목재 슬랫이 공간 전체에 단순하면서도 통일된 모습을 연출하며 서비스 영역까지 길게 이어지는 것을 볼 수 있다.

Erbalunga estudio have designed Le Crêpe da Pía, a creperie in Tui, Spain, that combines original old stone and new, contemporary design elements.

The proprietor of this project wanted to create a creperie in an established area of the city with the concept ‘Take Away’ where customers, if they desired

could purchase and consume the product whilst walking in the old medieval part of the city, as an alternative to the arrangement of seating in the Creperie’s limited dimensions.

To emphasize this concept we opted to utilize and showcase the window area with direct viewing from the street and pedestrians

so visual contact was established and passers-by could view the crepes being prepared. Located within the old medieval part of the city

the stonework from that time has been left untouched, while a service counter has been added at the front of the creperie

making it easy for someone to quickly buy some crepe and continue walking around the streets.

The design consideration was not to overload a small space. The level has been adopted for geometric simplicity using

clear tones and palette of reduced materials to enhance and entice the space.

Inside, the wood slats that were used to cover the front of the service counter

have also been used to create seating against the stone wall. A steel frame travels from the floor and wraps onto the ceiling

allowing for additional wood slats be mounted, and to create a place for the lighting to hang

without having to install them into the ceiling.
