에고이 클래블스 키친 EGOI CLAVEL’S KITCHEN
기업의 사옥을 설계할 때 중요한 문제 중 하나는 기업문화를 표현하고 그에 맞는 공간을 조성하는 것이다.
매우 전문적이기는 하지만 다소 비격식적인 형태로 경영하는 에고이+클래블스 키친(EGOI+CLAVEL’S KITCHEN)은,
설계팀에게 유동적이고 평등하고 이질적이며 가식 없는 공간을 설계해 달라고 요청했다.
새로운 공간은 기능 면에서 회사의 성장에 대응하기 위해 공간적 유연성을 보장하고,
촬영스튜디오, 회의실, 화상통화 부스와 최소 100명을 동시에 수용할 수 있는 식당을 포함해야 했다.
예정된 모든 기능을 충족시키기 위해, 설계팀은 일련의 나무 상자를 만들어 분배하고, 그 박스에 모든 밀폐 공간, 회의실, 영상실 등을 통합시켰다.
이 상자들은 공간적 역동성을 정의하는 공간 전체에 걸쳐 분포되었다.
서로 다른 방식으로 공간에 기능을 분배함으로써, 또 일종의 조직적 혼란 속에서 이런 요소들이 분산되지 않게 함으로써,
설계팀은 공간의 다양성과 유연성을 확보하고 여러 용도에 적용될 일련의 구석과 틈새들을 만들어내어, 각각의 기능에 뚜렷한 개성을 부여했다.
설계팀은 동료들 간의 상호작용이 자연스럽게 이루어지는 넉넉한 공간과, 독서, 휴식, 비공식적인 만남에 이용될 분리 공간을 마련하였다.
또 다른 기본적 관심사는 모든 공간에 충분한 햇빛을 유입하는 것이었다.
파사드의 형태는 법적규제를 따랐고, 유리로 마감했다. 2층에는 촬영스튜디오를, 3층엔 식당을 배치했다.
촬영스튜디오는 북향의 빛을 이용하는데, 이는 빛이 하늘에 반사되어 낮 시간 동안 비교적 일정하게 유지되고 대비가 낮아,
이곳의 기능에 가장 적합한 빛을 제공하기 때문이다.
유동적이고 자연스러운 층간 관계를 보장하기 위해 설계팀은 조형적 특성이 강한 나선형의 콘크리트 경사로를 설계했는데,
이를 통해 3개 층이 서로 연결되고 공간 전체의 특징이 된다.
꼭대기에서는 천창에서 내려오는 빛이 3개 층을 비추며, 경사로의 우아한 지지대 구조는 그대로 노출되어 있다.
One of the most important issues in designing a company building is to express the corporate culture and to create the space suitable for it.
Presenting informal management, although extremely professional, EGOI+CLAVEL’S KITCHEN asked for a fluid, equal, heterogenous and unpretentious space.
In terms of functionality, the new space had to guarantee the spatial flexibility in response to the company’s growth,
and include a new photography studio, several meeting rooms, some formal, some informal,
video-call booths and a dining space that could accommodate at least a hundred people at a time.
In order to achieve all the intended functions, the design team distributed a series of wooden boxes,
where they integrated all the enclosed spaces, meeting rooms, bathrooms and video room booths.
These boxes were distributed throughout the space that defines all the spatial dynamics. By distributing these functions in a heterogenic
way throughout the space, and by mismatching these elements in a kind of organized chaos,
they guaranteed spatial versatility and flexibility, and created a series of nooks and crannies that would be applied to several uses,
assigning each one of them a distinct personality. The design team arranged ample spaces
where the interaction between co-workers takes place naturally, and discrete spaces which could be used for reading a book, relax, and informal meeting.
