끊임없이 변화하는 시장 트렌드에 적응하기 위해 비어있는 공간 설정을 특징으로 했던 이전의 사진 스튜디오에 비해,
요즘 사진작가들은 개성을 강조하는 작업 공간을 갖는 경향이 있다.
디자인사무소 Shire Space Research가 설계한 다멍(大夢) 사진 스튜디오는 트렌드를 따르기보다 스튜디오만의 개성을 전한다.
주지(諸暨) 시의 한 쇼핑몰에 위치하는 프로젝트의 부지는 상담, 사무, 사진 촬영, 의상 보관 등 주요한 네 기능을 수용해야 했다.
다멍은 우아하고 조화롭고 견고하면서도 유연한 작업 공간을 원했다.
Shire Space Research는 그 요구를 바탕으로 디자인에 접근했다. 디자인의 주요 목표와 획기적인 방법은 공간적 장면의 조성이었다.
디자인의 핵심적인 고려사항은 예술과 상업의 균형을 이루는 것과 기능성을 바탕으로 공간 환경과 분위기를 조성하는 것이었다.
설계팀은 기존의 공간 형태와 건축적 사고에 근거하여 서로 다른 기능 영역을 수용하도록 공간을 네 블록으로 나누었다.
기능 영역은 실외 환경과 자연광과 통합되는 방식으로 각각의 특성에 따라 형성되었다.
공간 구성과 순환 경로를 통해 사용자와 상호작용하는 새로운 공간이 탄생했다.
순환 경로는 외부의 형태와 서로 다른 기능 영역의 경계를 조절함으로써 자연스레 형성되어, 사용자에게 전체 공간 경험에 몰입하게 하는 한편 상호적 경험을 향상한다.
외형적 디자인은 서로 다른 기능적 영역 간의 상호 작용을 보장할 뿐 아니라 장난스러운 전체 공간을 조성한다.
다양한 소재의 질감이 공간에 독특한 분위기를 선사하고, 서로 다른 소재의 질감과 색상의 조화가 공간 경험을 풍부하게 하며, 독특한 시각적 효과를 연출한다.
Shire Space Research는 다멍 사진 스튜디오를 위해 차분하고 우아하면서도 역동적인 공간을 조성했다.
형태와 물성의 조화는 전체 공간에 질서와 감정을 불어넣는다.
공간이 전하는 정서는 브랜드에 대한 고객의 인식을 미묘하게 강화한다.

photographers nowadays tend to have a workspace that highlights personality.
A workspace for photography studio Damon conceived by design practice Shire Space Research conveys the studio’s unique character instead of following trends.
The project’s site in a mall in Zhuji City, has to accommodate four major functions, including business negotiation, office, photography studio and clothing display.
Shire Space Research approached the design based on Damon’s demands for a workspace that is elegant, harmonious, rigid yet flexible.
The major challenge and breakthrough of the design is the creation of spatial scenes and atmosphere.
The key design considerations were how to balance art and commerce and how to create spatial settings and atmosphere based on functionality.
The design team divided the space into four blocks to accommodate different functional areas, based on the existing spatial form and architectural thinking.
Functional areas are configured according to their respective attributes in a way of integrating with outdoor environment and natural light.
Through spatial organization and the circulation route, a new space that interacts with users was created.
The circulation route is naturally formed by adjusting the external forms and boundaries of different functional areas.
It allows users to immerse in the overall spatial environment, while enhancing an interactive experience.
