북쪽 출입구가 큰길을 마주한 이 프로젝트는 높은 천장과 넓고 탁 트인 공간이 특징이다.
공간 남쪽 끝에는 메인 층보다 1580㎜ 높은 메자닌 층이 있고, 높은 창문을 통해 프레임에 담긴 하늘 전경을 볼 수 있다.
설계팀은 남북으로 이어지는 건물의 전체 길이를 차지하는 공간을 최대한 활용할 수 있도록 미용실을 설계했다.
파사드와 실내 사이에는 메자닌과 같은 높이의 벽면이 공간 내 헤어 컷 영역을 분리한다.
이 벽면은 대로의 시선을 차단하면서도 위로부터 자연광이 들어오게 한다.
동서 양쪽의 평행한 벽면은 옅은 보색을 띤다.
스타일링 거울에 나타나는 색상 변화는 물의 표면을 보는 것과 유사한 색다른 감각을 연출한다.
실내로 더 깊이 들어가면, 서로 같은 높이의 목재 패널 벽과 메자닌 사이에 샴푸 영역이 마련되어 있다.
이 영역은 조용하고 평온한 공간이다.
샴푸 영역 측면에는 화장실과 뒷방이 있으며, 두 곳 모두 상자 모양으로 밀폐된 형태를 띤다.
이러한 배치는 그 입지를 규정하는 특징인 남북으로 개방된 흐름을 보존한다.
미용실 뒤쪽 메자닌 층은 헤어 디자인을 촬영하기 위한 스튜디오 공간으로, 갤러리로도 사용할 수 있다.
메신저 와이어는 미용실의 기능 공간 확장을 감안한 것이다.
설계팀은 메자닌을 향해 올라가는 동작을 염두에 두고 미용실 로고와 카운터를 디자인했다.
미용실의 이름 ‘래프터(Laughter, 웃음)’는 이 미용실을 미소와 기쁨을 일으키는 장소로 만들려는 건축주의 이상을 반영한다.
이 미용실은 개장한 후 고객들의 발길이 끊이지 않고 있다.
The north entrance of this project faces a main road, and features a wide, open space with high ceilings.
The south end of the beauty salon has a mezzanine level that rises 1,580㎜ above the main floor.
From the high windows, cutout views of the sky are visible.
The design team created this beauty salon to take full advantage of the space,
which occupies the full length of the building from north to south.
Between the facade and interior space, a wall that is the same height as the mezzanine delineates the cutting area.
This wall blocks the line of sight from the main road while still letting natural light come in from above.
The parallel east and west walls are rendered a pale, complementary color.
When gazing into the styling mirror, the change in color creates a memorable
sensation akin to that of looking at the surface of water.
