빛의 보이드가 있는 집 / House with Light Void
이 주택은 혼잡한 도로에서 약간 떨어진 주택가에 위치한다.
비록 이상적인 전망을 제공하지는 못하지만, 부지의 삼면이 반대편 주택들이 있는 거리로 가려 있어 원치 않는 시야를 쉽게 피할 수 있다.
설계팀은 프라이버시에 대한 클라이언트의 요구에 따라 밖에서 안이 들여다보이는 대형 창문을 내는
대신 2층에 이중 레이어로 외벽을 쌓고, 안쪽 레이어에 빛과 바람이 들어올 수 있는 개구부를 만들었다.
실내에서는 시멘트 석고로 마감한 탑 모양의 상자 5개가 구조물의 중앙과 네 귀퉁이를 차지하고 있다.
4.5m 높이의 천장을 특징으로 하는 탑들 사이의 공간에는 거실-식당-주방으로 이어지는 영역이 포함된다.
위를 올려다보면 탑 꼭대기에 있는 개구부로 둘러싸인 하늘의 모습들이 언뜻언뜻 보인다.
탑들에는 서로 연결된 1층의 생활-식당-주방 영역과 대조적으로 아늑하고 밀폐된 공간을 제공하는 작은 방들이 포함되어 있다.
1층에서 사다리를 통해 진입하게 되어 있는 중앙탑은 약 3.6㎡ 규모의 방으로,
거주자들은 이곳에서 휴식을 취하며 머리 위의 천창을 통해 하늘의 전경을 감상할 수 있다.
이 주택에는 엎드려 기어 다닐 수 있는 바닥 아래의 공간, 올라가야 하는 전망대 같은 영역,
2층의 햇빛방과 발코니 등 미리 정해놓은 용도가 없는 비슷비슷한 작은 공간들이 여럿 마련되어 있다.
This residence is located in a residential neighborhood slightly removed from a busy thoroughfare.
Although the setting did not offer ideal views, the lot is bound on three sides by
streets with houses on the other side, making it easy to avoid unwanted visibility.
Responding to the client’s desire for privacy, the design team avoided making large windows where they
would be noticeable from outside and instead constructed two layers of external walls on the second story,
with openings in the inner layer to let in light and breezes.
Inside, five tower-like boxes finished in cement plaster occupy the center and four corners of the structure.
The space between the towers contains the living-dining-kitchen area, which features a 4.5-meter-high ceiling.
Looking up, one glimpses pieces of sky framed by the openings in the tops of the towers.
The towers contain small rooms that offer cozy, enclosed spaces in contrast to the interconnected
living-dining-kitchen area on the first floor.
The central tower is entered via a ladder from the ground floor, and contains a room measuring about 3.6㎡,
where residents can relax and enjoy views of the sky through the glass overhead.
