텅충삼칠이십일마당 / Tengchong Courtyard
지난 4년간 커피, 숙소, 주문 제작을 결합한 커피 브랜드로 급속히 발전해온 ‘1/2 커피 & 바(1/2 Coffee & Bar)’가 구랑위에 새롭게 조성됐다.
건축주는 주변 자연환경과 보다 긴밀히 연결되고 지역 건축에 더 잘 어울리는 복합공간 조성을 희망했다.
설계를 담당한 CUN PANDA NANA의 두 디자이너 차이쉬엔나(蔡泫娜)와 린지아청(林嘉誠)은 ‘재미있는 삶은 산, 강, 호수,
바다의 절반’이라는 브랜드 콘셉트에서 작업을 시작했다. 섬의 특성을 유기적으로 결합, 브랜드의 야심에 부응하는 디자인에 주력했다.
설계팀은 나무줄기처럼 공간 중심에서 뻗어 천장을 덮는 넓은 ‘캐노피’ 형태로 주요 철골 구조물을 제작,
습하고 덥고 비가 많은 아열대 지방에서 태양과 비를 피할 수 있는 그늘과 쉼터를 조성했다. 환기와 열 방출을 위한 공간을 마련한 셈이다.
또한, 캐노피 위에 겹겹이 쌓인 잎들은 지면에 투사된 ‘햇빛’ 조명 아래 은은한 빛을 형성하도록 연출됐다.
가늘고 기다란 조명들을 나무 윗부분 ‘잔가지들’ 사이에 삽입하여, 보는 즐거움을 더했다.
공간의 분위기는 밤이 되면 180도로 변한다. 주변이 점차 어둠에 싸이면, 1/2 커피 & 바는 또 다른 정체성을 드러낸다.
낮에 부드러웠던 숲이, 밤에는 네온 불빛 아래에서 반짝인다. 1/2의 로고, ‘나무줄기’, 크고 작은 ‘그늘’ 모두가
더 대담하고 화려한 외관으로 변모, 야경 애호가들의 이목을 단번에 사로잡는다.
도시 환경, 역사와 문화, 천연자원에서 출발한 1/2 커피 & 바는 구랑위섬에 고유한 느낌을 창출해냈다.
강렬한 시각과 분위기에 대한 고정관념을 탈피하며
구랑위의 독특한 수식어 중 하나로 자리매김했다.
In the past 4 years, 1/2 Coffee & Bar which has developed rapidly as a coffee brand integrating coffee,
inn, and customization, was launched newly in Gulangyu. The client wanted to create a composite space which is
more in line with the surrounding natural environment and more suitable for local architecture.
Taking charge of the design, CUN PANDA NANA’s two designers Xunna Cai and Jiacheng Lin started
from the brand concept of “an interesting life is half of mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas”. Based on nature,
they combined the island’s characteristics organically, and focused on responding to the brand’s ambition.
The design team built the main steel structures in the shape growing around the space and stretching out a broad
“canopy” covering the ceiling, and created shadows and a shelter from the sun and rain in the humid,
hot, and rainy subtropical region. It is also a space for ventilation and heat emission.
In addition, layers of leaves on the canopy form shadowy lights under the illumination of the “sunshine”
projected on the ground. Light strips were embedded in the gaps between the “twigs of trees” on the top, adding the pleasure to see.
