굴뚝을 둘러싼 주택 / House around a Chimney
자연광은 강변 도시들의 특권이다.
그 빛을 받는 런던의 한 실내 공간에는 산업 고고학과 예술 디자인 오브제들이 자유로이 뒤섞여 있다.
빛과 그림자로 조각되었을 뿐, 다듬어지지 않은 거친 공간은 프란체스코 메네젤로(Francesco Meneghello)에게 영감을 주었다.
결코 독특하지 않으면서도 자유롭고 다면적인 서사를 구성하는 미니멀한 디테일을 통해 그의 사고를 확장시킨 것이다.
인상적인 이 공간은 장식에 대한 엄격한 선택과 시적 허용을 혼합함으로써 건축과 오브제 사이의 새로운 연결을 실험하려는 그의 욕구를 자극했다.
생활 영역은 산업 고고학의 전형인 넓은 창을 통해 빛을 받는 개방된 공간이다.
이상적인 중심축을 따라 배치된 가구는 공간을 자연스럽게 구성하고, 시각적 연속성을 질서 있게 연출한다.
70년대 스타일의 거대한 모듈식 가죽 소파가 라운지 영역을 감싸고 있다.
곡선을 띠는 이 소파는 귀스타브 쿠르베(Gustave Courbet)의 명화 ‘세상의 기원(L’Origine du monde)’에서 영감을 얻은 도발적인 벽면 카펫처럼 강한 느낌을 준다.
그리고 예술적으로 표현된 오브제들이 완벽하게 편안해 보여 친근한 분위기를 조성한다.
투명한 칸막이는 생활 영역과 수면 영역 사이의 직접적 관계를 암시하고, 모든 시각적, 개념적 장벽을 제거한다.
필수적이면서 거의 보이지 않는 주방은 기하학적 추상 작품의 완벽한 표현이다.
기능적인 요소를 감춤으로써 공허함을 인식하도록 한다.
거실에 놓인 오래된 올리브 나무 한 그루는 자연의 신성함을 강조한다.
나무 주변 좌석이 명상과 사색에 맞는 신비로운 공간의 상징적 에너지를 나타낸다.
벽면에 부착된 ‘거울 아닌 거울’은 훨씬 더 강한 에너지를 느끼게 한다.
사회적 공간과 사적 공간 사이의 이상적인 연결을 암시하는 안락의자 두 개와 그림 한 점 외에, 예술과 대화하는 차원으로 들어가는 데 필요한 것은 없다.
사적인 공간 첫 번째는 베를린의 아방가르드 부티크에서 영감을 얻은 넓은 드레스룸이다.
두 번째, 안방에는 수도원의 필수 요소가 있다. 그것은 바로 피난처이자 동굴이다.
일본 미학에서 영감을 받은 본질적이고 기하학적인 디자인의 침대는 공간 중심에 놓였다.
이탈리아 예술가 알베르토 부리(Alberto Burri)가 제2차 세계대전 후 구현한 작품은 이 집에서 가장 친밀한 영역을 바라보고 있다.
프란체스코 메네젤로의 인테리어 프로젝트는 비대칭성에 관한 탐구, 찬 것과 빈 것의 균형 그리고 반사성과
투명성의 대비를 통해, 박물관의 콘셉트를 끌어내는 주택의 비전을 다시 한번 보여 준다.
Natural light is the privilege of riverside cities.
In an interior space located in London, illuminated by that light, industrial archaeology and art-design objects mingle freely.
This raw and brutal space, carved with lights and shadows, inspired Francesco Meneghello,
and fostered his thought through minimal details composing a narrative that is never unique but free and multifaceted.
The imposing essence of the space encouraged his desire to experiment with new connections between
the architecture and the objects, by mixing rigorous choices and poetic concessions to decoration.
The living area is an open space, illuminated through the wide windows typical of industrial archaeology.
The furniture arranged along an ideal central axis organizes the space naturally, and creates an orderly visual continuity.
The huge modular leather sofa in seventies style embraces the lounge area. With its curved line,
it introduces the feeling of a more intimate dimension where objects defined by powerful artistic expressiveness are perfectly at ease,
as the provocative presence of a wall carpet inspired by the famous painting by Gustave Courbet, “L’Origine du Monde”.
A transparent separation element suggests the direct relationship between the living and the night area,
and removed every visual and conceptual barrier. More than essential and almost invisible,
the kitchen is a perfect expression of geometric abstraction; no functional element is visible, forcing the perception of emptiness.
