설계팀 RENESA Studio의 최신작인 ‘엘진 카페(Elgin Cafe)’는 레스토랑 겸 바로 운영된다.
낮에는 비스트로의 따스함을, 밤에는 흥겨운 분위기를 품는 공간이다.
설계팀은 맥시멀리즘 관점에 따라 매혹적인 컬러팔레트로 깨끗하고 부드러운 공간을 설계했다.
그들은 사용자들이 녹지에 둘러싸여 있는 듯한 야외 분위기를 느낄 수 있는 장소를 조성하고자 했다.
설계팀은 독창적인 레스토랑 경험을 창출할 수 있도록 디자인하려 노력했고,
결과적으로 카페문화를 즐기는 소셜미디어에 정통한 고객들의 마음을 움직일 수 있었다고 말한다.
그들은 디자인, 물성, 브랜드가 정의하는 현대적이고 신선한 해석과 연관된 기능적 요구의 이해로부터 작업을 시작했다.
실내로 들어간 고객은 카페에 형성된 공간과 자재의 유희에 참여하도록 초대된다.
공간의 한 부분은 슬라이딩 접이식 셔터로 별실을 분리하면서 미학적인 식사영역을 형성한다.
좁은 출입구는 세로로 길게 골진 바와 나란한 선반에 통합된 와인셀러로 이어진다.
와인 바 가운데에는 녹색 석재로 마감된 넓은 테이블과 높은 의자가 배치되었다.
현지 자재를 가지고 디자인에 접근한 전체 공간은 골진 소재와 더불어, 프로젝트에 기발함을 더하는 연어색 좌석,
그와 대조를 이루는 인도 북부 도시 우다이푸르 산(産) 녹색 석재를 사용하고 있다.
가구와 펜던트조명은 천연목재와 패브릭으로 만들어져, 전통적인 스위치와 벽등의 형태로 차분한 금색을 강조한다.
천장은 공간 전체에서 반복되는 몰딩을 통해 레스토랑의 본질적 특성을 보여준다.
실내를 단색으로 유지하는 것은 공간의 무결성을 보장하고, 강조된 디테일에 변화를 주지 않은 채 시각적 소란을 줄인다.
공간 곳곳의 금색 디테일, 숨겨진 와인 바와 더불어 강조된 짙은 녹색의 목재 작업물은 기능적으로 디자인되었을 뿐 아니라 미적으로도 완성되어 공간을 풍부하게 만든다.
The latest product of RENESA Architecture Design Interiors Studio,
Elgin Cafe is a restaurant and bar with warmth by day and hip vibe at night. The design team created a clean,
soft space with an inviting color palette, according to their maximalist perspective,
They intended to create an atmosphere of the outdoors, where users would find themselves surrounded by greenery.
They sought to engage in a design that would create a international hospitality experience,
consequently appealing to the social media savvy customers who enjoy cafe culture.
They began by understanding the functional demands coupled with modern and refreshing interpretation defined by design,
materiality and brand. Once inside, customers are invited to engage with the play of materials and spaces formed in the cafe.
One part forms the aesthetic dining area while separating the private room through sliding folding shutters.
A small entrance leads to the winery with wine bottles integrated into shelving alongside the long fluted bar.
Amidst the wine bar, a large table clad in green stone and high chairs are placed.
