구리 요새 퉁바오 / 铜堡 / Copper Blockhouse
디자이너는 그의 친구가 항해 기계 공장을 개조한 창의산업단지 중앙에 중심 건물 설계를 의뢰받았다.
그들은 클럽이나 카페 같은 평범한 기능에 국한하기보다 다기능의 정신적 요새를 설계하기로 합의했다.
박물관은 현대인에게 예배당이며 인간의 불안한 영혼을 안정시킬 수 있을지 모른다고 생각한 디자이너는 박물관을 작업의 기반으로 삼았다.
원래 부지에 있던 차고의 형태를 따라 디자인은 아치형을 띤다.
항해 기계와 선박은 거대한 금속으로 만들어졌기 때문에, 디자이너는 건물 전체를 금속으로 짓기로 했고, 금속 자재 중 구리를 선택했다.
그는 금속 외피가 인간의 두려워하는 마음을 보호할 만큼 강력하다고 믿었다.
선박을 만드는 방식으로 요새를 건설하도록 영감을 준 것은 항해 기계 공장이었다.
따라서 건물의 시공은 선박의 구조재 중 하나인 용골에서 출발했다.
폭 150~220㎜의 용접한 구조용 강철로 만들어져 양쪽에 동판을 씌운 용골로 내외부 파사드를 형성했다.
단지 전체는 훌륭한 건축가의 설계로 새로운 모습을 띠게 되었지만, 디자이너는 차고 남쪽의 벽보 벽, 방공시설, 큰 나무, 인공산은 그대로 두었다.
변화의 흐름 속에서 부지에 대한 기억의 파편을 남기기 위함이었다.
부지의 각 건물이 다양하게 설계되었기에 디자이너는 구리 요새를 단순하게 설계하고자 했다.
만약 부지 전체가 하나의 모음곡이라면, 구리 요새는 소리 없는 멈춤이다. 디자이너는 ‘멈춤’이라는 요새에 전시, 공연, 강연, 파티,
박물관, 심지어 스케이트보드 활동 등 다양한 가능성을 잠복시켰다.
‘구리 요새’란 이름은 이 프로젝트 부지에 마련된 방공호, 일종의 견고한 요새에서 영감을 얻었다.
A designer was invited by
his friend to design a central building in the center of the creative industry park that he renovated.
They agreed on a multi-functional spiritual fortress rather than ordinary functions such as clubs and cafés.
Thinking that the museum is the church of the modern age and might settle human disturbed souls, the designer used the museum as the base of the work.
The form of the design is the original arched shed on the site.
Nautical machinery and ships are huge metal objects, therefore, the designer decided to build the
building entirely of metal, and copper was chosen. He believed that metal shell could be strong enough to protect
human frightened souls. It was the nautical machine factory that inspired him to build this fortress the way a ship is built.
Therefore, the construction of the building started with the keel, which was made
of welded structural steel from 150㎜ to 220㎜ wide, covered by copper plates on both sides to form the internal and external facades.
The whole park was designed by an excellent architect who gave the park a new look. However, the designer kept the
newspaper wall on south side of the shed, the human security, the big tree, and the rockery. He tried to remain some fragments of
the memory of the site. Each building in the park is abundantly designed, and that’s why he preferred to keep the Copper Blockhouse simple.
If the whole park is a partita, the Copper Blockhouse is a silent pause. The designer ambushed a variety of
possibilities in this “pause”, the fortress; exhibitions, performances, lectures, parties, a museum, even skateboarding
activities. The name “Copper Blockhouse” is inspired by an air raid shelter reserved on the project site, a solid fortress.
