SCHULSTRASSE 17(슐슈트라쓰 17)은 기술 용품과 혁신적인 창업 제품을 위한 널찍한 콘셉트매장이다.
미니멀한 미학을 토대로 완성된 이번 프로젝트의 전체적인 아이디어는 건물 부지의 자연스러운 외관을 일부 유지하고,
어떤 종류든 전통적인 마감재를 피하기 위해 자재를 폭넓게 사용하고 결합하는 것이었다.
설계팀에게 주어진 건물은 뼈대가 드러난 상태여서 작업하기에 훌륭한 캔버스를 제공했다.
가공하지 않은 따뜻한 베이지 톤의 격자천장이 공간을 지배하고, 콘크리트 벽, 소규모 갤러리의
기능을 하는 매장 창문, 흥미로운 높이의 배열 등이 공간 디자인을 전개한다.
공간의 중심을 차지하는 두 개의 육중한 기둥 아래로는 자갈이 깔린 진열대가 기둥을 감싸며 자리한다.
자갈 풀을 위해 맞춤 제작된 기단은 건식 벽 구조 요소로 만들어졌다.
모든 진열품에 전기를 공급해야 하기 때문에, 자갈을 깔아 전원을 숨기는 방법이 고안되었다.
이 자갈은, 맞춤 제작한 기단 위에 놓여 고객들에게 관심과 안정감을 자아내고 예술적 디자인 접근방식을 완성하는 인상적이고
불규칙한 돌덩어리와 강렬한 연결성을 가진다. 스테인리스스틸로 만든 가늘지만 뚜렷한 측면의 진열대는 제품 배치에 관하여 최대한의 자유 공간을 선사한다.
결국 모든 오브제는 부드럽게 반사되는 자재 위에 전시되어, 그 중요성과 가치를 강조한다.
또 다른 강조점은 전체 공간을 관통하고 매장의 규모를 강조하는, 두 부분으로 나뉜 진열대이다.
브루탈리즘(Brutalism)을 연상시키는 콘크리트 기둥 다섯 개가 건식 벽 요소들로 조립된 강렬한 중앙
진열대와 더불어 천장을 지탱하고 있는데, 이는 모두 매장의 길이를 강조한다.
브루탈리즘 건축을 차단하는 스테인리스스틸 가구는 맞춤 제작한 육중한 인공 표석에 의해 받쳐져,
분위기를 진정시키는 예술품 역할을 하고 있다. 그 결과 하이테크와 로우테크, 완성 소재와 미완성 소재의
느낌을 융합하여 분위기를 조성하는, ‘현실이 미래를 만난다’는 콘셉트가 탄생했다.
SCHULSTRASSE 17 is a spacious concept store for technical goods and innovative start-up products.
The overall idea is to keep some of the building site’s natural look and to bring it together with an eclectic use of materials to avoid traditional finishes of any kind.
The given architecture was stripped to the bone and offered a wonderful canvas to work on.
A raw coffered ceiling in warm beige tone dominates the space and gets complimented with concrete walls and an
interesting arrangement of levels and shop windows which function as little galleries.
At the lower part of two massive pillars which possess the spatial center, gravel pool displays are placed embracing the pillars.
The bespoke base of those pools is completed by drywall construction elements.
As every displayed object has to be provided with electricity, a principle of hiding the sources with stone gravel was created.
The gravels have a strong connection with the impressive erratic blocks of stone placed on custom bases, which evoke the customers’
attention and calm, and complete the artistic design approach. Sleek but bold stainless steel side displays give the space a
maximum amount of freedom concerning the arrangement of products. In the end,
all objects are displayed on softly reflective materials to underline their importance and value.
