팡팡 터트리는 시원한 청량감과 새콤달콤한 비주얼로 인기를 끌고 있는 3매치게임, 캔디크러쉬로 유명한 King Digital Entertainment는 창의적인 발상을 중시하는 곳이다.
아이디어가 곧 경쟁력이고, 기술력이 추진력이기에 그들의 사무공간은 독특함으로 점철되어 있다.
스웨덴 스톡홀름 K36의 공간을 디자인한 Adolfsson & Partners는 King사의 근무방식과 업무환경을 고려하여, 재미있고 독창적인 분위기를 조성했다.
스웨덴의 ‘숲(The Forest)’을 모티프로, 자연 속에서 얻을 수 있는 영감과 안정감의 효과를 기대하며, 공간마다 각기 다른 테마를 연출했다.
따라서 K36의 문을 열고 들어서는 순간, 마치 헨젤과 그레텔이 된 듯한 착각을 불러일으킨다.
눈에 띄는 원목의 가구들과 함께 노르웨이 이끼로 뒤덮여있는 벽체.
그 뒤에 위치한 계단을 따라 내려가다 보면, 채색된 소나무 합판으로 만들어진 독특한 나무 실루엣이 한층 풍요로운 환경을 조성한다.
이 풍경은 유연한 질감의 패브릭과 결합되어 유기적이고도 조각적인 모습을 보여준다.
바닥, 텍스타일, 테이블의 그레이 색조와 따뜻한 그린이라는 컬러 테마는 수수하지만 가볍지 않은 힘을 보여준다.
숲이라는 주제를 강화하기 위해 마련된 또 다른 장치는 바로 인공 시냇물.
사무실 이곳저곳을 연결시키며 흐르는 이것은 실제로 사람들의 발걸음을 탐지하여 움직임으로 바꾸는 인터랙션 플로어(Interaction Floor)이다.
물고기들은 물속에서 첨벙거리다가 사람이 지나가면 재빨리 숨어버리고, 그로 인해 은은하게 퍼지는 잔물결은 그들의 발 사이사이로 흐른다.
빛과 영상의 효과는 현실적으로 구현되어 버튼을 터치하면 시냇물은 발밑에서 부서지고 이윽고 얼음으로 변하고 만다.
공간의 연출은 각 분야 전문가들과의 협업으로 이루어졌다. 건축팀은 독일의 벽돌식 건물을 재현했고, 명암의 자연스러운 흐름을 의도하였다.
조명디자인은 변화하는 계절을 반영하고, 자연광을 최대한 활용하기 위해 유리지붕이 달린 공간을 조성했다.
요리조리 헤엄치는 물고기, 계절에 따라 변화하는 빛, 곳곳에서 뛰어다니는 동물들, 테크놀로지로 완성된 인공 숲, King사의 한가운데에 있다고 상상해보자.
도심의 삭막함과 대비되어 포근하게 느껴지는 아늑한 공간은 기술의 냉정함을 채워주는 아릿한 감성을 자극한다.

Partners the mission to build another office space in Stockholm. Adolfsson & Partners recently helped them with their office at Sveavägen
which resulted in a unique and inspirational place full of color and creativity with graphics from Kings’ world of games.
This office space needed to be flexible and to provide multiple places suited for all types of operation methods.
At the same time they had to focus on how this world is driven by creativity and playfulness.
In a business that is looking for new solutions the employees have to have the energy and power.
King needed an office to match that drive.
Adolfsson & Partners came up with a concept that has its roots in the Swedish forests.
The same inspiring and calming effect that you get from spending time in natural surroundings, they decided to apply to this new King office.
To make the most of the natural light in this studio they made the glass-roofed well a local hero in The Forest, the centerpiece of this office.
With innovative solutions such as interactive floors making streams turn into ice they made turning seasons an indoor reality.
